National University Golf Academy launches video Swing Challenge on Facebook

  • Contestants eligible for $1,000 scholarship to National University Golf Academy and five (5) one-hour sessions with a PGA professional
  • Entrants will upload video and description of their swing to personal Facebook page
  • Contestants will encourage Facebook friends to vote on their video

CARLSBAD, CALIF. – The National University Golf Academy, which offers innovative education programs that combine academics with golf at the high school, associate’s and bachelor’s levels, today launched a video Swing Challenge on the Academy’s Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/nugolfacademy.

To enter the Swing Challenge, contestants simply need to upload a video and short description of their swing to their Facebook page, where they will encourage friends to vote on their video. Dr. Mac Powell, the Dean of the National University Golf Academy, and the Academy’s expert faculty will review the video submissions.

Each video will be judged by a panel of National University Golf Academy expert judges, who will rank the submissions based on the following criteria: originality and creativity of the swing and accompanying narration; skill level of the swing; and feedback from Golf Academy Facebook community, including number of “like” votes for the video.

The first place winner of the Swing Challenge will receive a $1,000 scholarship to the National University Golf Academy and five (5) one-hour sessions with a PGA professional the Golf Academy’s Swing Lab in Carlsbad, California. Second place will receive three (3) one-hour sessions, and third place will enjoy one (1) one-hour visit to the lab.

The National University Golf Academy Swing Challenge video contest ends at midnight Pacific Time on April 30, 2010.
